Fife Coaching Academy

This year will see the Academy  provide opportunities for European & African coaches to travel to the United Kingdom to obtain a variety of new skills & Qualifications.

In March 2008 I have been asked to travel to Nairobi  to coach, but i will wait and see.

On 7th April coaches will travel back to Nigeria to deliver the donated football strips. Details will follow later.

We aim this year to better aid the communities buy raising funds for two main items.

1- A Water Hole . This will allow for a better quality of life for all, and this water will be FREE to all.

World at your feet has joined with WATER AID in order to assist us with this task.

 

WaterAid works in 17 countries providing water, sanitation and hygiene education to some of the world's poorest people.

Dear Mr Cooper,  

As Anambra is adjacent to Enugu State , it may be feasible for some of the villagers to visit a well-construction project in one of the communities supported by our partner agencies (local governments) in Enugu and to learn first-hand from their peers there on how they went about constructing their wells. We'll also be happy to share our construction manual and health & safety guide.  

However, any water project will require prior geological assessment - eg we have found that the water table is very deep in some sites requiring the drilling of deep boreholes (220m) which can cost over GBP25,000. Usually local people will be able to tell you if a well is feasible, based on local knowledge, existence of other wells in the vicinity, etc.

But a professional geophysics survey can be carried out by local consultants for a few hundred pounds.   No legal requirements exist as far as we area aware to prevent a community installing a new waterpoint. However, there are local protocols of involving local leaders in the process, of course.

2- To bring coaches form Nigeria/India to become qualified Sports/life skills coaches . To offer them funding to fully support a social integration project through Sport in their local community. To fully equip the local school and to provide free education to all local village children

These two project's will require dedication and the full support from all communities here in the UK.

We are asking you to Donate your old Football tops and team strips, as well as fundraise.These will be greatfully recieved by the children of Africa.

And To assist us in fundraising events throughout the year.

We are always looking for individuals to help with parachute Jumps, walking the West Highland Way, sponsored walks & runs, swims, all manner of events. We are open to your suggestions for events just contact us.

Hold an event on our behalf, do it for more than one charity.

To bring the coaches to the UK will be expensive, and life changing for them.
